This Privacy Policy explains how My Canadian Stock (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use this website, create an account, place an order, or contact us. By using this site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

We collect information in a few different ways:

• Contact form: the name, email, phone number (optional), and message you submit.
• Customer account: if you create an account, your name, email, shipping/billing addresses, and order history, handled through our checkout and account provider, Shopify.
• Orders & payment: orders are processed by Shopify and its payment partners. Payment card details are entered directly with them. We do not see or store your full card number on our own servers.
• Automatically collected: your IP address, briefly retained to prevent spam and abuse of forms like login, signup, and contact; and basic, aggregate site usage analytics.

We use the information we collect to:

• Process and fulfill orders, and maintain your account and order history
• Respond to messages sent through our contact form
• Detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse of the site
• Understand overall site usage and improve the site

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work, for example to keep your cart, keep you signed in to a customer or admin account, and support basic site analytics. Our live chat widget also sets its own cookies to keep track of an open conversation. We do not use cookies for third party advertising.

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run this site, each of whom only receives the information needed to perform their specific function:

• Shopify: checkout, payment processing, customer accounts, and order history.
• Resend: delivers the emails sent through our contact form. Message content is emailed to us and is not separately stored in our own database.
• Vercel: hosts this website, stores listing photos and manifest files, and provides basic, privacy friendly site analytics.
• Google reCAPTCHA: protects our registration and contact forms from spam and abuse. Its use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Google Maps: displays our warehouse locations on our Locations page. Its use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
• Live chat: powers the chat widget on our site. If you start a chat, your messages and basic visitor information (such as your IP address) are shared with this provider to deliver and respond to the conversation.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above, as needed to run the site and fulfill orders, or where required by law.

Contact form messages are emailed to us and are not stored on our own servers beyond a brief record used for spam prevention (your IP address, periodically purged). Account and order information is retained by Shopify for as long as your account is active or as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes. Chat transcripts are retained by our live chat provider according to its own data retention practices.

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To make a request, contact us at contact@mycanadianstock.ca.

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect once posted to this page.
